Samsung F480 Tocco: Go & Touch it

Tocco isn't a taco gone wrong: it's the Italian word for touch and Samsung has seen fit to use it as the name of its latest touchscreen phone. The Tocco features a new and unique TOUCHWIZ UI replacing the Croix UI. The 5-megapixel camera featuring auto focus and a CMOS video lens; are normally only found in high-end or prosumer DSLR cameras.

The Samsung F480 Tocco is also one of the first phone to feature the ‘smile shot’ mode which is in itself groundbreaking. The ‘smile shot’ feature enables the Tocco’s camera to detect when your girlfriend, kids or mom is smiling and automatically take the shot. Other features includes 240 MB of internal memory, a microSD card slot supporting up to 8GB, HSDPA and USB 2.0. It has a battery capacity of 1000mAh with an estimated talk time of 3 hours and 250 hours of standby.

Samsung has introduced a new user interface that lets you drag and drop widgets on to the main screen. HSDPA (7.2Mbps) means you get high-speed access to the Internet on the go and there's an expandable microSD for adding memory.

The F480 boasts a giant 71mm (2।8-inch) 240x320-pixel (QVGA) touchscreen. Tactile feedback vibrates the phone when you tap the touchscreen, so you know that it has registered your command.

Vice president of Samsung Mobile UK and Ireland mark Mitchinson said: “As with the extremely popular Samsung G600, we, in the UK, took the lead in the creative aspects of this inspirational phone, such as the advertising and naming of the phone, to effectively target the UK market.”
